The local school board (LSB) here approved recently the 2012 special education fund (SEF) annual budget of P470,437.26.

The board appropriated the amount for personal services, maintenance, and other operating expenses (MOOE), sports aid to the Department of Education (DepEd) activities, and a five percent for calamity fund.

Among the various expenditures, the bulk of the budget – P200,000 – was appropriated for personal services to fund the honoraria of Special Education Fund (SEF) teachers assigned in the different schools of Lagawe district.

The amount of P175,915.41 was also allocated for sports like provincial and district meets and for purchase of athletic supplies and equipments, foods, and other expenditures while P51,000 was set for MOOE.

As aid to DepEd’s activities like scouting, press conference math/science fair, the LSB also set a P20,000 while the amount of P23,521.85 was reserved as calamity fund.
