Fly high and reach your dreams!
Evolution harkens the dawn of a new era. The same phrase can be said of Royal
Christian College (RCC) for it has undergone tremendous evolution. RCC was
founded as the Electronics and Technological Institute of Cebu City, Inc. (ETICC)
in 1985, but its Articles of Incorporation were amended and the name of the
College was changed to Technological Institute of Cebu City, Inc. (TICC) on
June 16, 1988.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
In February 1994, the incorporators of TICC sold the College to Garcia then,
in July 1995, Barnard became Steward / President and overseer of all RCC
school operations. In November 4, 1995, the board of directors decided to
change the name of TICC to Royal Christian College. Under Barnard's
leadership, RCC was able to focus on it core, course Bachelor Science with
Majors in Tourism and has since been known for its expertise in the field of
tourism.
By the year 2000, Capt. Antero Roy Book purchased the school with his family
sitting on the board of trustees with him as the Chairman and President. Under
his leadership, the school was more focused in granting exposure to students
in the airline industry to such extent that most of the OJT candidates are
assigned to airline companies, most of whom would later hire these OJT
candidates.
The Royal Christian College at Highway
Subangdaku in Mandaue City, Cebu.
RCC is not just limited to offering B.S. Tourism and Travel Management and its
flagship course of B.S. Airline Management.
The College now also offers the following courses, with permits and government
recognition: B.S. Commerce with majors in the following: Business Management,
Accounting Management, and Marketing Management and B.S. Elementary Education;
and B.S. Secondary Education. At present, RCC still stands to expand and offer
quality Christian oriented education at affordable prices.
PRESENT TIMES
The main branch of Royal Christian College is located at Highway Subangdaku in
Mandaue City, Cebu while her spacious annex building is located at Alingsug,
Mandaue City. Physical Education and other activities are held on the spacious
Alinsug campus. The school is equipped with Aircraft Cabin, Mock-up /
simulator, and all classrooms are air conditioned. Just recently, RCC acquired
another building in Colon, Cebu City, which is currently undergoing
renovations to accommodate more students.
Royal Christian College is probably the only school in Cebu equipped with
closed circuit television camera for its classrooms to provide added security
measures for the safety of the faculty, staff and the students.
Royal Christian College has received various awards and recognition. In 2005
alone it received the National Shopper’s Choice as "No.1 Airline School"
(Metro Cebu), Philippine Marketing Excellence Awards for "Most Outstanding
Airline School" (National and Metro Cebu), National Product Quality Excellence
Award "Best for School Uniform" and "Best Airline School" (National).
This year, Royal Christian College maintains her status as the "Number 1
Airline School" as conferred by the National Shopper’s Choice 2006. Recently
the Philippine Marketing Excellence Award 2006 honored her as the "Most
Outstanding Travel and Tourism Management School" (National), "Most
Outstanding Hotel and Restaurant Management School (Metro Cebu)," and "Most
Outstanding Airline School" (National).

The School is not just limited to the four corners of its walls, for it is
also vigilant in various tourism related exhibits and job fairs. As a matter
of fact, her students are always in the forefront of such events like the
tourism job fair exhibit and tourism expo to name a few. Often, her students
are getting the first hand experience on tourism through various activities
like the annual Hong Kong tour.
Every one has a moral obligation to help society. Thus, in keeping with this,
the Royal Christian College has a linkage with the Philippine Coast Guard
Auxiliary for students to receive the training required to become enlisted
members of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Philippine Coast Guard
Auxiliary is the civilian support group of the Philippine Coast Guard.
Although a volunteer, civilian organization, the PCGA uses a military
structure for organizational purposes. Like other volunteer sea rescue
organizations around the world, it performs non-military and non-police
activities in support of its national navy or coast guard. These endeavors
include search and rescue, environmental protection, disaster relief, and
community services.
The school as a whole is a continuous work in progress. It changes for the
better of society as well as its facilities and faculty/staff. Together with
the trusted and loyal faculty and staff members, Royal Christian College molds
the students as competent, quality conscious and socially responsible citizens
of the country.
FLAGSHIP COURSES
Royal Christian College prides itself in giving On-the-Job Training assignment
to her students. Each candidate for graduation is required to render
On-the-Job training at an Airline company or travel agency selected by the
School Officials.
Bachelor Science with majors in Airline Management prepares students to the
prospect of employment with various airline companies. Students are taught not
just the book knowledge of the business but how it works as a whole. Students
would learn how to reserve and book Airline tickets as well as how does the
ticket pay for the operational cost of the Airline; and what makes an airplane
fly.
Bachelor of Science with majors in Travel and Tourism Management imparts the
basic traits and knowledge regarding the tourism industry. With annual tours,
both local and international, students learn far greater things, for there is
absolutely no better teacher in tourism than first hand experience.
Bachelor of Science with majors on the following fields: Business Management,
Accounting Management. These subsidized courses are specifically tailored to
meet the financial needs of working students.
Together with Bachelor of Science with Majors in Secondary and Elementary
Education, Royal Christian College continues to raise the bar of rendering
quality education at reasonable prices.
VARIOUS ACTIVITIES OF THE SCHOOL
Each summer the school offers Air Survival Training for Airline management and
tourism majors. Students are taught with the aid of the Bureau of Fire
Prevention how to fight fire, and survive in stringent conditions that are
simulated. The course is directly under the supervision of the President and a
selected faculty member to ensure the safety of the students.
Local and Domestic tours are usually scheduled every semester. As always, no
less than the President, School Administrators and officials oversees the
activity. To travel and learn is among the best gifts in the field of
learning.
The annual Ms. Royal Christian College is unlike any school-sanctioned
pageantry for it is in this activity that doors to employment with Airline
companies are opened. It aims to prove that beauty must be coupled with
intellect otherwise beauty alone would not survive in the harsh realities of
the world. The annual pageantry is sponsored by various corporations and
airline companies.
For after all learning is a continuous process and what better way to learn
than to do while traveling, so come fly high and reach for your dreams at
Royal Christian College. (By Aljoriz Dublin, Faculty member)
